Installing Gutters On Hardiplank Siding?
Hi, I am installing vinyl gutters on my house with Hardiplank Siding. Whenever I try to hang the gutters using the screws they recommended, they just end up drilling a smooth hole in the siding that allows them to fall back out. I have tried to hang numerous things on this siding and can never get a solid hold. Does anyone have a good solution to mounting onto Hardiplank?
Very simple. The hardiplank is fastened to framing members such as studs. Locate your studs with a stud finder and fasten your gutters at those points with screws long enough to go through the siding and at least 3/4 inch into the stud. I’ve intalled thousands of feet of this siding and wouldn’t use anything else. Home contractor since 1960.
