Our “field poppy” wall paint is pumpkin orange. Any suggestions to tone down?
Can we use another color to color wash? Used semi gloss, latex paint. Using eggplant, sage green, and taupes in other rooms of home. Tuscan decor. Please no reds.
A single glaze application would be beautiful with your “field poppy” as a base coat. Taupe would be good to create a tuscan theme and add depth to your walls. Metallic gold would be nice too.
We use water based glazes and latex paint.
We use Adicolor’s Wetedge glaze and the open time is HUGE and they are odorless. You need the open time to work with the glaze on the wall. Oils are quick drying and most have solvents and are very strong smelling.
Check in your area to find someoen who teaches faux finishing classes. Preferably a faux finishing studio, but if that is not possible, Home Depot or Lowes teaches quick easy lessons on glazing.
Do samples in the colors you are thinking of using BEFORE trying it out on your walls.
good luck and have fun, it sounds beautiful!
