What kind of patio glass sliding door lock is this that I’m trying to replace?
I am looking to replace a lock for a sliding glass door that leads to a patio.
It is not the door handle and it’s locking device.
Rather it is a pin or deadbolt type lock that mounts at the top of the door frame and locks it into the stationary part of the frame.
The part is rectangular and mounts horizontally. You put a key in to lock or unlock it. This is accomplished by pulling the pin or deadbolt out towards yourself.
Does anyone know the name of this kind of lock and where one might be purchased online?
I’ve checked with Home Depot and local hardware stores, and none of them carry this type of lock.
Look in the yellow pages for aluminium repairs or door services etc. Find one thay will let you know. Most Aluminium joinery places will be able to help.
