I want to tear out my carpet and install laminate flooring in my living room. I know that under my carpet is wood planks. Can i still install laminate, or do i have to settle with just replacing my carpet! Thanx to all who answer this question…..
You certainly can do what you want to do. Thats the nice thing about laminate, it will go over almost any solid, clean, flat and firm surface..
Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar .. I attended several seminars and installations classes, as well have installed a few 100,000 s/f on laminate.. GL

No but it does have to be level. I think that is why alot of people use a self leveling thin set on the floor before using a laminate.

Yes you can install laminate flooring in your living room. Just ask questions at the home improvement center and follow the directions. Have fun and enjoy your new floor. Roxanne
