We are installing laminate stairs and our laminate stair nose piece does not fully wrap around our star edge so our round edge of the stair still shows. How do we handle this? Thank you in advance!!!

Dominick? One more quick question. Each stair step on my stairs overhangs the stair front by 1/4″ to 3/8″. How do I laminate each one without it being at an angle? Should I install them double thick to match up to the tread overhang? Or should I get some cheap 1/4″ plywood to put down as an underlayment?

Dominick! You’ve inspired me. I fired my contractor two years ago and he left me with unfinished laminate stairs. Some quick questions please? I have a closet full of everything. Will a 10 in. Miter work just as well as a chop saw? How did you cut the back piece of each stair lengthwise? A band saw? What can I use to make a precision cut so I will not have to put in trim molding? Andddddd…a big and…if I am laminating each stair front, then which should overlay which? TIA for your help.

What you need to do …
What you need to do is call the manufacture of your flooring for the stair nosing. They are not cheap, LOL..

Great video. This is exactly what I have been trying to do on our MDF staircase since I’ve done the flooring upstairs with laminate floorboards already. However I could not find the special bull nose timber in your video here in Sydney, Australia for the step edges to fit nicely with the laminate boards. All they sell here are cheap looking aluminium edging with woodgrain sticker to cover the edge of the laminate steps. Yuck! Making the bullnose piece myself using a router is not easy too.
