Is a laminate flooring installation more expensive than carpet?
I would like to place laminate flooring in my NYC rental apartment but I do not know if I have enough money to do so.
To answer you question, yes over all laminate installation is more expensive. Carpet can be done in a whole house in just a day or some times 2 days ( if its a far size house) And laminate would take several days.. Small areas in laminate can be done in a day were it takes just a few hours to do carpet.. So yes it is and about twice the cost ( or more) to do laminate per s/f than it does carpet.
This is based on a pro doing it. Check your local area for exact pricing per s/f do get your final figures.
