is it possible to have a stair runner on carpet stairs?
i’ve only seen carpet runners on hardwood stairs but i need something on my stairs because my dogs shed like crazy. i can’t vacuum 2 flight of stairs everyday. any suggestions?

Yes you can use over carpet. You will need to get runners that come in rolls, not just 8′ long pieces. It takes about 11/2 ft per step. Count the number of steps time 1.5 ‘ to get the necessary number of total feet you need. Then add 1′ to the total to cover the front of the bottom step. Use long nails to hold in place. You will find modern runners in rug specialty stores or floor covering stores. Expect to pay $10 to $25 per ft. for modern designs or about $5 to $7 for plain runners.
