rv deep cycle battery?
Have a small, older camper. The refrigerator is having some power issue. It runs fine when the engine is running. The house battery is new and charged. When the engine shuts off, so does the refrigerator, and the red battery indicator light flashes low. We were looking at connections as a possible problem. There is a small box that acts as a connection on the positive wire running from the house battery. It is marked 12v50a 187. It has two screws protruding from it to connect two positive wires to. The original red wire is simply too short to connect to the battery. If we remove the box and tape the positive wires to each other, the fridge works fine What is the purpose of the black box? Can I by-pass it safely? Thanks for any answers/comments!!
