How can I cut ceramic floor tile into triangles without chipping the tips off?

I am trying to make a design on my counter top, but every time I try to cut the triangles with my tile cutter, the tip will snap off.

Wet saw is your best way to get a clean smooth edge.You ll want one since , when you grout a hand cutter will show slightly imperfect edges unless you have a stone to help smooth the edges. Using a wet saw don t put the tile upside down it may chip the glazing if you have a bright glaze tile. You can cut straight thru the tile w/o turning it around if you have a smaller tile or a larger size saw.Other than that , dont put the hand cutter “wings” so close to the end of the tile.
