Designing 3d Solar Panels?

Im curious because I read about a boy who invented a 3d solar panel, using a pyramid he designed a solar panel that collects light more efficiently. Now I have a question.

Why cant I design a solar panel that takes adventage of convex and concave mirror’s and use a surface that collects light and then focus’s the suns energy into a beam and take the beam into a chamber where the solar panels are sitting and surround them with mirrors as well, so any light not obsorbed by one particular spot is reflected to another area for reabsorbtion. I know solar panels dont absorb light but perhaps that will allow more light to create the effects it needs.

I thought about your plan. I think it may work. But you may have to invest some amount in trying that out.
Do you think the beam would go straight without any losses? Will there be any significant benefits of this method over the currently used big solar panels?
Or can this method offer a better alternative than having solar panels all over the roof tops? I think these questions need to be answered before one goes for a 3d solar panel. Anyways, it may require a lot of tweaking to prepare a practically usable solar panel.
If one has to design a solar energy panel for home, one should better go for a cheap solar energy rooftop panel. It can be a homemade panel and can be done without technical knowledge. Some good solar panel systems setup guides are available online http://HomeEnergyMethods.com/
